About US

On 8 October
1932, the Indian Air Force was officially created. On April 1, 1933, his first
AC flight came into being. It had six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys
(literally, air soldiers). Four Westland Wapiti IIA military cooperation
biplanes at Drigh Road were included in the aircraft inventory as the ‘A’
flight nucleus of the planned No.1 (Army Co-operation) Squadron.
Four and a half years later,
“A” Flight was in action for the first time in support of Indian Army
operations against insurgent Bhitani tribesmen from Miranshah, North
Waziristan. Meanwhile, a “B” Flight on the vintage Wapiti was also
created in April 1936.

PC for Men –
Applicants who serve as PC officers will continue to serve according to their
division and rank until the age of superannuation.

SSC for Men
& Women -The engagement period for SSC officers of the Flying Branch is 14
years from the date of commissioning (Non extendable). For a span of ten years,
the initial tenure will be for SSC officers in Ground Duty (Tech and Non-Tech)
divisions. Subject to service conditions, availability of vacancies, desire, suitability
and merit, an extension of four years can be given.

Flying Officer – Rs. 56100 – 177500 at Pay Level –
10, MSP Rs. 15500 (During one year of training, flight cadets earn a fixed
stipend of Rs 56,100/- per month.)

Qualification & experience for
education:

Branch Flying:

Graduates in
any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60 percent marks
in total and should have completed a 10+2 standard in Mathematics and Physics
and a minimum of three years of degree in any discipline from a recognized
university with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent. Alternatively,
B.E/B.Tech grades with a minimum of 60 percent marks should be available.

(Non-Technical Branches) Field Duty:

Administration:
Graduate degree (minimum three year degree) in any discipline from a recognized
university with 60 percent marks or equivalent or cleared section A&B
examination from a recognized university with at least 60 percent marks or
equivalent of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or
Aeronautical Society of India.

Accounts – B.Com degree from a recognized
university with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent (minimum three year
degree course).

Logistics – Graduate Degree (minimum three-year
degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with 60 percent marks
or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination from a recognized
university with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent of Associate
Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of
India.’

(Technical Branch) Ground Duty:

 Aeronautical Engineer(Electronics): candidates with a minimum of 50
percent marks each at 10+2 level in Physics and Mathematics and a minimum of
four years of graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in
Engineering/Technology from recognised University Or Cleared Sections A & B
Associate Membership Examination of Institution of Engineers (India) or
Aeronautical Society (India) or Aeronautical Society (India)

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Candidates must have passed 10+2
with 50 percent in physics and mathematics and a degree in
engineering/technology/integrated post-graduation. Or Cleared Sections A&B
Examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or
Aeronautical Society of India by means of actual studies with or equal to at
least 60% marks in the relevant IAF-specified disciplines.

BE/B Tech
degree (Four-year course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60%
marks or equivalent OR Candidates who have passed an Associate Membership Test
of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India under
Section A&B from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or
equivalent.

Limit Age:

Flying
Branch: between 20 and 24 years from 01 January 2022, i.e. between 02 January
1998 and 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive)

Divisions of Ground Duty: 20 to 26 years from 01 January
2022, i.e. born between 02 January 1996 and 01 January 2002 (both dates
inclusive)

Fitness Physique:

Candidates
will be expected to complete a 1.6 km run in a defined time frame of 9 min, 100
meters run in 16 sec, 20 push-ups and sit-ups in 1 minute, 3 chin-ups should be
able to do and 25 meters should be able to swim.

Education

For all
courses at the Air Force Academy Dundigal, training will begin in the first
week of January 2022 (Hyderabad). The length of training at Air Force Training
Establishments is 74 weeks for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches, and
52 weeks for Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches. At the moment of entering
the Air Force Academy, the PAN card and account in the SBI/Nationalized Bank
are necessary. Registration is mandatory for the Aadhaar Card.

Selection Process

Based on the
AFCAT written analysis, Officers Intelligence Rating Test & Picture
Perception and Conversation Test, Psychological Test and Group Tests /
Interview, the selection will be made

. Pattern of exam

The AFCAT
Exam will have 100 General Knowledge, English Verbal Skill, Numerical Ability
and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test questions. Totak points for the 300
marks test. The length of the review is 2 hours. EKT [For candidates with one
of the (Technical) Branch] exam options, there will be 50 questions of 150
marks on Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical & Electronics and the
time to complete the examination is 45 minutes.
