Institute of Chemical Technology
the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) of the University of
Bombay (now Mumbai) on October 1, 1933, with the noble aim of advancing India’s
reserves of expertise in chemical science and technology, the Institute has
developed to become a leading university dedicated to education, training,
study and industrial cooperation in chemical engineering. Over the years, the UDCT
then grew in stature and was granted partial autonomy by the University of
Mumbai in 1985, which under the principle of autonomy propagated by the
University Grants Commission was taken to the next level (UGC). It was
transformed into the University Institute of Chemical Technology (UICT) on 26
January 2002 and was granted full autonomy under the World Bank’s TEQIP in
2004, due to its scale and scope of operation.

sum of Rs. 25000/pm from Engineering.
