About Indian Army
After independence, the Ministry of Defence was created under the charge of a Cabinet Minister and each Service was placed under its own Commander-in-Chief. In 1955, the Commanders-in-Chief were renamed as the Chief of the Army Staff, the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Chief of the Air Staff. In November 1962, the Department of Defence Production was set up to deal with research, development and production of defence equipment. In November, 1965, the Department of Defence Supplies was created for planning and execution of schemes for import substitution of defence requirements.

(a) Soldier Technical
Qualification : 10+2 Intermediate Examination pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% marks in each subject. If 3 yrs Diploma in Engineering from an AICTE recognized institute
 (b) Soldier Nursing Assistant
Qualification : 10+2/Intermediate pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 40% marks in compulsory subjects and minimum 50% marks in aggregate. OR B.Sc Degree (Botany/ Zoology/ Bio Science) and English. The candidate should have studied all the four specified subjects in Class XII also.
(c) Soldier General Duty
Qualification : 10th pass Should have secured minimum 33% marks in each subject and 45% in aggregate in class X. For CBSE, Min of D grade (33-40) in indl subjects and overall aggregate of C-2 grade or 4.75 pts be considered eligible for recruitment as Soldier General Duty with marks stipulation.
(d) Soldier Tradesman
Qualification :
(i) 8th Class Pass. For House Keeper, Mess Keeper & Syce.
(ii) 10th Class Pass. For Chef, Washerman, Dresser, Steward, Tailor, Artisan (Wood Work),Artisan (Metallurgy),Support Staff(ER),Artisan (Construction) and all other trades 10th simple pass/ITI qualification in respective trades except Trade of House Keeper and Mess Keeper.
(e) Soldier Clerk/ Store Keeper Technical
Qualification :
(i) Should have secured minimum 50% marks in each subject and minimum 60% marks in aggregate in class XII.
(ii) Should have studied English and Math/Accts/Book Keeping in Class XII or class X and should have secured minimum 50% marks in each of these subjects, whether studied in Class XII or X.
(iii) Even if a candidate is graduate or has a higher qualification, percentage marks scored in Class XII would be applicable towards his eligibility.

B.Sc. Engineering also can apply at par with B.E./B.Tech. Candidates having any other degree/combination degree, example Production Engg. Automobile Engg. Mechatronics, Construction Engg. etc. other than those specifically mentioned above are not eligible to apply. These exclusions are only indicative and not exhaustive. No equivalent qualifications shall be accepted.

Probation And Emoluments : Candidates selected shall be placed on probation as per Company Rules in E1 grade. The candidates selected through GATE Score 2017 shall be offered annual CTC of Rs. 4,00,000/- .The annual CTC covers basic pay, HRA, other allowances Provident Fund, Gratuity and variable pay .The other benefits shall be applicable to the respective grade as per Company Rule.

Selection Process : 

For the above posts the selection methodology will comprise two stage selection process i.e. – Merit as per GATE 2017 Score, and Personal Interview.

a) The short-listing of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained by them in the GATE 2017 examination. Score from GATE-2016 or from any previous GATE examination is not valid. The marks obtained out of 100 in the GATE Score Card will be taken into consideration for short listing the candidates. The candidates will be called for further selection process in the ratio of 1:5 (i.e. 1 Post: 5 candidates, as per the reservation of posts). In case multiple candidates are having same GATE marks, then the candidate who has got higher marks in the Base qualification mentioned at Table-1 above will be considered for further selection process.

b) Further Selection process is Personal Interview.

c) Final merit list of candidates shall be prepared by giving weightage to GATE-2017 score and score obtained by the candidates in the Personal Interview. 85% weightage shall be given to GATE score and 15% weightage will be given for Personal Interview.

Application Fee :

a) Candidates belonging to General/OBC category (including non-creamy layer) has to pay a
non-refundable application fee of Rs 750/-.Bank charges/Taxes, if any, has to be borne by the candidates. SC / ST / PWD/ Ex-Serviceman/categories and regular employees of OMPL are exempted from payment of Application fee.The application fee has to be paid through any one of the following modes of payment:

i. SBI Internet Banking, other major bank's Internet Banking; Debit/Credit Cards (The
additional bank charges/taxes for all such transactions is to be borne by the candidates
in addition to the Application Fee of Rs.750/-.). The last date for making the Payment of
Application Fee through this mode is 18.11.2017.

ii. Cash Payment through e-challan at branches of SBI. The additional bank charges/taxes
for Challan Mode is to be borne by the candidates. Last date for making the Payment of
Application Fee by e-Challan is 18.11.2017.

b) It is in the interest of the candidates to use online mode other than the challan mode to
instantly complete the registration process and generate the registered application form.
